I am trying to reinstall Windows 2k on my XW8000 workstation, but it refuses to boot from the CD...

I have set the CD drive to master, and tried both IDE from the motherboard... to no avail.

any suggestions? I have this thing and I want to install an OS but as of now its a huge paperweight...

Did you set the CD in the boot order in your BIOS to be before your Hard drive? If not cd wont be seen on computer with windows already installed.

yeah, it just says "operating system not found"

I even disables all other devices and made the cd the only boot device, still nothing.

I am trying to make a floppy boot disk now, but struggling to find a floppy disk that still works laying around..

why the reinstall is the system able to boot now and can you do a clean install or do you need to do a install over old setup? also make sure your ide jumpers are all set correct try it with hard drive on channel 0 and cd rom on channel 1

HDD is SCSI, and wiped... so I need to do a clean install. working on creating Win2k boot disks now, slowly...
