I am trying to connect the game Diablo II by using a LAN with my friends. Problem is the game could not detect my IP. The rest of my friends have their IP self assigned by the computer and when i check my IP using winipcfg, I found out that my IP is 0.0.0.0
HELP, I couldn't link Diablo2 and Serious Sam : First Encounter, BUT I COULD hook up in the LAN in both starcraft and Counter Strike. Something is wrong with my network setting and I don't know how, a little bit of advise is helpful here.

Copy all the TCP/IP settings from your friend's computer and enter them on your machine. Change the last digit of the IP address to something that isn't used (try to PING it from a DOS prompt on a working computer first). You should then be able to join in.

That's what i did the first place, i followed exactly their settings and there's no IP assignment in their comp, they all select 'Auto assign IP from Server'.
And I tried assigning my own IP (identical to theirs except the last 2 digit) but during the game, it says 'cannot join server'
this is frustrating.
