OK, wtf. launch the game, it prompts me for the serial number, retreive from back of manual, enter, it starts the activation process and gives me "Activation process has been terminated. Please make sure the SERIAL NUMBER has been entered correctly.
Press BACK to attempt another activation, click MANUAL ACTIVATION to activate manually or press CANCEL to abort. If the problem persists please contact mailto:support@securom.com.

The SERIAL NUMBER was not found in the database. Most likely the SERIAL NUMBER has been entered incorrectly." am i retarded?

edit: after about 10 tries it decided to go through.

These activations things usually doesn't do much more than to keep legitimate users out. The hacks for the activation has already long been out. Useless.

I'd return it as defective, get your money back if possible, or store credit if you can't.

I really hate the Key Code avtivation proccess. How hard is it to print legable characters? o and 0 always drive me nuts! So does l and i and I. Put a freaking line thru the zeros so we know they are zeros.

yeah i read about what happened. apprently, the bioshock devs were in shock of how succesful their game was initailly and when so many players tried to activate at once, some of the servers crashed. that might have been the problem. whatever it was, good thing you solved it.

I cant think of any game that required online activation that has ever withstood the initial rush.

DRM and paranoid copyright nazi control freak bean counters are going to kill PC gaming, not higher performance consoles.
