Cannot access other computer on my home network even though I can see them.

Ok I'm on XP pro. Using my media server in the living room, I can see my home network and my bed room computer, lets say 'system X', under it. However, when I try to access it, it always asks for a login and a password even though I don't have any set. I tried setting up a username with a password on my bedroom computer but it doesn't help at all.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm sick of using PS3 media server / TVersity when I can supposedly just use the media player to read files off the bedroom computer without the need of these softwares.

Any help?
