Cannot access certain links! Please help

I am having problems accessing certain links within web sites? When I click on the thread, I get the hourglass and a tab on bottom of screen! I was able in the past to access these sites! I am using IE 6! and Windows XP Pro!

You might want to check your firewall, if you have one. If not check your internet connection.

Have you installed or changed anything recently that might be causing this problem?

I have a friend that is experiencing the same thing after downloading some latest security fixes from MSN. He can't seem to access his Yahoo email account any longer... gets a DNS error message page after he logs in.

Did you ever find out what was causing the problem?
