Never had a problem with XP untill now........well, I am partially responsible for trying the stupid trick shown by cdfreaks.com to fasten the loading speed of XP.......cdfreaks.com said that

I've found this in another news group, don't think I've seen it on here. If you find that Nero is slow to load under XP try this, it worked for me!

Go to "administrative tools" in the control panel, and in the "services" list, disable the IMAPI CD-Burning COM service. (Note: manual
setting is not enough it must be disabled) It is the built-in CD-burning capability for windowsXP (incidentally, written by Roxio). If you are using Nero, you don't need this anyway. Once it is disabled, Nero will start up much quicker.

I've done that and since them I am not able to use my drives..........Both my CDROM and Writer is present in the device managers with that little yellow exclamation mark.......it says code 41 error when I look in the properties.........Any help would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem and was resolved by downloading aspi driver version 2.0.1.27 from the Nero site. Then find the aspi driver in the program and replace with this one then it worked just fine, hopes this helps,Gary
