We've already had this thread and cannabis has nothing to do with the world out to get you.

Has anyone figured that out? I've talked to a lot of people in their late thirties, forties and older who enjoyed smoking when they were younger, but now they get extremely paranoid, to the point of panic attacks. It's just not enjoyable.

Was watching Dr. Sanjay Gupta about it. They were saying it does decrease white matter into gray matter brain tissue if smoked while your brain is developing as a teen. I guess thats why some people who smoke alot when young end up with that stereotypical uh... slowness about them.

Anxiety, or anxiety attacks have been a known side effect of marijuana use for decades. I used to get them once in a while as a youth. They can be severe enough to make you think you're dying or having a heart attack (personal experience here) I learned quick to chug a couple beers or something and they would fade away.

It's true: just mention cannibis, and some people get all bent out of shape...

legalization happened already sheesh, it's over and done with...

there's websites you can order from LEGALLY from colorado...ships to any state, nice little loophole in the law... just search they are around..

now watch as the price plummets..

it's gonna level out about 5/7g

if you do the math from the energy side to produce it, that's where we'll level out........

and then they'll start growing big outdoors everywhere.. and flood the market with all varieties/potencys, etc.... then big tobacco will make there move and it will plummry to about 2/g.. that's where big outdoor lands.... the cartels already do it.... phillip morris can't compete right now.... with the cartels... and it's not worth there time to compete with mom and pop/cannibus clubs....

I'm no Neuro-Scientist, but I suspect that this is a Half-Truth. Meaning, that yes the part of the brain stimulated produces Fear, but that it also produces other emotional responses. When I smoked Pot, I had a few paranoid experiences, but they were vastly outnumbered by feelings of Wonder, Euphoria, Curiosity, and Happiness. If Fear was the only experience, I wouldn't have smoked as much as I did. In 8 years of nearly daily use, I only recall 2 incidents of Fear. One was when I became convinced a Nuke had gone off and for 10 minutes I awaited being vapourized(a car backfired :D ). The other time I thought my back was broken, but after 5 minutes I realized it was just a little sore. :D

In the 70s you smoked whatever some Mexican farmer grew, baled up (hopefully got halfway dried first), sat rolled up on the side of the field for a week until the truck came by to get it, was stuffed into bricks and then smuggled to the US. Moldy dirt weed. Or you got Jamaican brick that came into NYC. Commercial weed wasn't 20% or higher THC like it is now. It wasn't until the 80s when the Cali growers started developing indica hybrids that were more potent and could be grown indoors.
Couple that with the internet coming online in the 80s and the pot scene changed dramatically. Now the pot you smoke was likely grown in your neighbor's shed.

I read recently that most of that crap was only 1 or 2% THC. Nothing like the 20-25% we are smoking today.

All I can say is, man, you must have had bad connections. Good Californian and Hawaiian were readily available from the sixties.

I'd refute this one so bad, but just don't want to post lot of previous life experience in many areas.

Lead paint has the same effect on children. I have always suspected that this has been a cause of stupidity amongst the poor.

If you were on the west coast sure, that has never been true for midwest or east coast. Hell you still wont find a decent price for cali weed even today on the east coast. (except for florida or up near canada)

Lead paint is completely different get out of here.

You're clueless.

Hell even in Indiana in the 1970's we could find good Blonde Lebanise Hash, and I haven't even smoked anything in over 30 years.

I mean really.

I'm sorry but, you don't know. I grew up in the Midwest and my connection went through Arkansas to California and Hawaii. You could even get stamped plates of hash with Turkish government emblems.

Oh you misunderstood I think, it was perfectly possible to get good quality weed, even at decent prices if you know the right people, but to say it was common place is just wrong, most people would not have had those connections, if you did; good for you. But that was NOT anywhere close to "normal".

So pot stops fear? So smoke a few and I'll start this drill up over here and say I'll stick it through your dumb ass head. Lets see if you have no fear now. LOL!
