Cankersore Remedies

Spooner

Lifer
goddamnit... i got this cankersore i think on tuesday.... idiot me kept playing with it and biting it and stuff until it got way way way worse to the point where it hurts to speak or move my mouth at all (since it's right inside my lower lip)

i've been dousing it in listerine 3 times a day for the past couple of days that seems like it's accelerated the healing process a bit, but i need something faster!!

Anybody know any better cankersore remedies?

There was a canker thread just the other day. That said I have suffered from them my whole life and a couple years ago discovered that I must have a slight allergy to chocolate that was causing them. I have tried every product on the market and the only one that will provide a protective coating and make it not hurt is a product called Rincnol PRN, it's sold at wallgreens and is made by GUM. You rinse with it for about a minute and it will give you about 12 hours of relief, it also accelerates the healing. Make sure you brush and rinse with antiseptic before using it so it sticks better.

Being alergic to many forms of nuts, I have had *MANY* sores
Here is what i use (best remedy I have found):

Zilactin-B

This also forms a protective "skin" over the open sore. I have been able to eat salty foods and tomato sauce-laden dishes with this "protective barrier" pain-free 🙂

In my experience the protection only lasts about an hour. Try Rincnol, I was really impressed with it.

There is a cooking item called "alum" - it is usually sold in the grocery with spices. It is powdery; put a little on your finger then dab a little on the sore. Then hold on for the ride - it burns like hell for a few seconds. Do this a few times in a day if needed. The benefit is that it seems to remove virtually all the pain, and the next day the sore is usually well on its way to being healed. I guess maybe it is akin to cauterizing a wound.

I always use some hot water (hotter the better) and mix it with a ton of salt than swish a few mouthfuls. This usually gets rid of them quickly.

If you have recurring outbreaks, it could be oral herpes. Anyways, the story in my family is to wait until the next it opens up and is sore/hurting, pour some bleach on a q-tip and swap at it. Hurts like a mothertrucker, but ensures no future outbreaks (at least in family experience).

I just rub salt into the sore. It burns for a few seconds, will bleed a little, but it solves the problem in a day or two.

used to use that when i was a kid. Had a lot of canker sores for some reason.

Debacterol is what you need. You apply it once and your canker sore literally goes away instantly. No kidding. What it actually does it cauterises the spot so all the pain is gone and the wound can heal back normally faster. I occasionally get some nasty canker sores which if untreated lasts up to two weeks and grows incredibly large. With debacterol, this no longer happens. Problem is getting hold of this medicine as it is not cleared for OTC sales and is not a prescription drug either, but rather they sell it to dentists and physicians directly at which point they distribute to their patients. However, I was able to buy some packs online at about $8 a treatment.
