Canker sore putting me in a bad mood

The little fvcker is right on the inside bottom front lip for about a week now. It started out as a cut (like a slice) and now has become circular and will periodically have a white coat. Usually, I apply non-iodized salt to the sore, wait a couple of minutes until the pain becomes unbearable, and then rinse it off with water. Afterwards, it disappears after a couple of days. Without the "treatment" it takes twice as long. Mouthwash doesn't seem to have any effect this time around. Am contemplating taking a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol and applying directly if it doesn't start healing in the next couple days.

Anything else I can try?

i had one yesterday. i find these things called "cankermelts" work. basically, they're little discs of pressed licorice (the root not the candy). put one in at night, by morning the sore is usually on the way to being healed.

Ouch. I have some sort of small sore on the inside of my lip. It's been there the last 3 days. Leave foul demon!
