"Made with REAL BEEF!" it says (bulk?)...

However, looking at the ingredients, the only meat listed is chicken. Other ingredients include the very savory:

propylene glycol
animal digest (disturbing wikipedia article on this stuff)
calcium sulfate
potassium chloride
phosphoric acid
titanium dioxide
iron oxide (yes, RUST)

WTF? My dog loves these things, and has eaten them for years with no apparent ill effect. He's either going to die young, or be perfectly preserved for all eternity.

I don't even see a "made in China" label on this stuff...

"a cooked-down broth" which can be made from unspecified parts of unspecified animals. The animals used can be obtained from almost any source and no control is in place over quality or contamination. Any kind of animal can be included: "4-D animals" (dead, diseased, disabled, or dying prior to slaughter), goats, pigs, horses, rats, euthanized at animal shelters, restaurant and supermarket refuse and so on."

Sounds yummy! :p

Since I started reading the ingrediants in pet-food I've become much more selective ... I give my dog these:

Old Mother Hubbard Extra-tasty biscuits

its cheaper and better to just buy the crackers, milk bone or purina or whatever.
atleast with that its real food, and slightly better for their teeth than sticky stuff

In the wild, predators would probably wind up getting the sick prey animals, as they'd be the easiest to catch.

Basically, you're just feeding your dog "Miscellaneous animals."
