Candles

Candles confuse me. They are made of wax and a wick. When you burn them, the wax melts. However, when they resolidify they are smaller. I never exepected them to burn at a temperature which allows for evaporation so where do they go? (I am talking about candles in glass jars)

The wax actually does undergo combustion and so gets used up.
