Also, Sarah Palin is a woman, and I'm certain she'll be voting for Santorum.

That's what I don't get. The far right keeps harping on conservative authenticity, but the further right they go, the less likely they are to win the general election. The far right is so mobilized against Obama, they'll vote for any presented alternative in droves (yes, even Romney). By going way out there, they risk alienating independents who don't like Obama's fiscal policy but are civil libritarians as well and mobilizing the far-left who may have not been super-excited about Obama, but will be terrified of a Rick Santorum.

Obama says a prayer every night that Santorum gets the nomination instead of Romney. After all, he'd like to be able to take a few months vacation instead of campaigning.

Not one person have I talked to even right here in Illinois said they would re-elect Obama.

They all said they would vote Republican because they are disappointed in Obama.

Jobs have not returned, Gas and food prices are higher than ever, housing is still a disaster and getting worse by the day.

They feel a Republican will fix all this.

I can understand the logic of it. It's actually not a bad approach from his perspective.

Let's say you consider abortion murder. We can have an argument about that postulate all day, but let's say for the moment that the Catholic position is correct. You thus see that people in this country are murdering babies at a rate 60 times higher than all other homicides combined, and it's perfectly legal. You can't seem to convince the rest of the country to outright ban this horrible practice, however.

So, instead, you attack the causes. You see that 1/8 of all women having an abortion cite concerns over fetal health (still 8 times the homicide rate) as one of the reasons. The only way to know that a fetus will have a birth defect is by some form of pre-natal testing. Thus, if you can ban pre-natal testing, you can ensure that the fetus won't be aborted, thus saving thousands of murders.

Note that I don't agree with the original premise, but if you take it as a given, the rest makes a lot of sense.
