this was ONE trip ?

It was multiple trips that happened to land back to back to back LoL.

Cancun was for a bachelor's party. Amsterdam was for King's Day. Seattle was just for a weekend "get away". Asia was planned far ahead.

The real question: what airlines did you fly and what classes did you fly in.

To Cancun - Interjet, Mexico's budget airline. I was actually really surprised at how nice and modern the plane was. Tons of leg room.
Cancun to LA - Virgin Peasant Class. I was hungover and slept the entire way.
LA to Amsterdam - KLM Peasant Class. Was not enjoyable at all. Tiny seats, entertainment system sucked, food was meh.
Amsterdam to Seattle - Delta Peasant Class. Delta's new remodeled planes are actually really nice. HD screens and comfy seats. Food still sucked.
Seattle to LAX - Virgin First Class. I upgraded. Couldn't deal anymore. Glad I did cause even though the flight was only 2 hours it was a $100 well spent for the seat, food, and shit ton of wine.
To Hong Kong and back - Singapore Airlines First Class. I love Singapore and will forever have them as my first choice in flights. All the pictures tell this story :D

OP, not a lot of pictures of Hong Kong. Did you go to the huge electronics market in HK? (can't remember the name now)

LOL @ the pic of the skyline restaurant in Saigon.

I was there a few months ago. Same place with a few friends. I was in Hong Kong, Saigon, Cancun. Haven't been to Amsterdam and Macau yet. Envy at your biz/first class seats. The food looks good.

LA to Amsterdam - KLM Peasant Class.

KLM business class is legacy carrier level - but they give you a nice parting gift. And that airport is super nice.

Anyway, super jealous. thanks for the report back.

Of all those, Cancun sounds like the most boring. Over the years I've learned Island/beach resorts are just boring and you can sum them up simply with Arr rook same

Hong Kong and Amsterdam are definitely 2 places that would interest me the most though. Have you ever been to Japan? Hands down my favorite international trip of all time.

I ate at the same pancake place in Amsterdam and that looked just as good as I remembered. I am assuming the beach pictures are Cancun? When was that in the last month and how was the weather as the beaches look nicely deserted

I think that means you're doing it wrong

That was actually the beaches of central Vietnam in Danang. The wedding pictures were in Hoi An which is about a 20 minute drive south. I really enjoyed the beaches in Vietnam versus the ones in Cancun. You're on a resort but you're also still very close to cultural stuff to see.

Cancun really is just a party town. I went on a bachelor's trip and when we walked the strip, there were a ton of bachelor/bachelorette groups.

Went to Tokyo last year. I loved it and I definitely need to make another trip there again. I have my Singapore points stacked for another first class flight there ;)

If you go anywhere and just stay at the resorts, you're doing it wrong.

And if you dont want to party, don't go to Cancun.

The beach pictures looked like Cancun but I noticed there was no seaweeds in the water or on the sand. The past couple of years, the seaweeds have been pretty bad at Cancun beaches.

I went through the whole set and look at all of the pictures.

Darn, motorbike for $11,000 VND? That's great deal, about 1/2 for the normal rate if you negotiate on the street for the same distance.

Did you go up to the Bitexco Financial Tower? I think the cost was $10 USD per person and it is the tallest building in Saigon (it was in a few pictures of the set). I did that once and it was ok. The glasses were not very clean so you could not see much further out. I wish it was more like open air like The Rock in NYC.

I see that you did visit Nha Hang Ngon and Pho Hoa Pasteur. Look like the prices are higher now. When I was there, the large bowl of Pho was $70,000 VND. Those are good places to eat. There are a few good Pho places in Saigon. Next time, go to Cu Chi and get down to be a tunnel rat.

Maybe time for an oversea ATOT meet.

Went up to the EON 51 bar at the Bitexco tower. The picture with the view and the blood orange looking drink was at that bar. It was cool but I definitely wouldn't hang out there too long. Came out to $15 a drink which is LA prices.

$15USD in VND is an insane price for a drink!

Yup. Did the math on it and was like yeaaah lets not order another lol.

It was my first time in Saigon but I think it's becoming more trendier than most people think. Went to a hot spot lounge/club and got a bottle of vodka and some mixers which came out to about $200. About the price of a bottle at a bar around here.

They're building a huge metro across the city that should be open in 2-3 years to alleviate traffic and set up some more high end shopping centers.
