I am new to DC for the TeAm, and I was readng through some posts and saw some talk about fighting cancer with DC. Could anyone tell me where to go to download this so I can crunch numbers to help people on earth, as well as finding people outside of earth.

Thanks

United Devices (I'm sure some of the TeAm participants in that project will post in here soon with a link for you) states most directly that its purpose is to research cancer medicines (or something like that, I really am quite ignorant of the exact details of that project). Folding@Home researches protein folding (and mis-folding, which can cause diseases such as Alzheimer's and some kinds of cancer), so while it also covers your area of interest, its purpose is somewhat more broad. Distributed Folding and the Find A Drug project may also do some calculations related to cancer research, but I've not read enough about them to know for sure.

This thread at the top of this forum may provide some more useful information for you, and some links to where you may find this software.

Hi LinuxNewB!

Yes, United Devices is the project that does Cancer reasearch.

To Download the client click this link: ud_agent_setup.exe

The link in my sig will take you to the page to join Team Anandtech.

United Devices also does other research, so if you want to limit your contribution to just the cancer project (as I do) Make sure to select that project only in your preferences when you setup your account.

Hope to see you come aboard!
