Canceled Order, Merchandise Arrived Today

I bought a couple of phones from http://www.ibmega.com, the site Panasonic's website sends you to for online purchases. Anyway, they give you a shipping cost after you place the order. For this particular order it was $23 which I knew was way overinflated. I forwarded the order confirmation back to their CS e-mail and said cancel it because of the outrageous shipping. This all happened on June 4th. Just now I'm watching TV and the UPS guy drops off the box with the merchandise I ordered originally. I quickly double check all my credit cards and none of them have been charged.

Should I just keep the stuff since they were going to screw me on shipping or just wait and see what happens? I ordered this stuff for my uncle so I'm a bit hesitant to give it to him since I don't know if they're gonna want me to send the stuff back or pay for it or what.

Thoughts appreciated.

Morally speaking, return it. That's what you'll hear from everyone. Including those that would keep the item.

Call them and ask them if the order was still canceled.

If they ask why, just chuckle and say "Oh nothing." and hang up.

😛

A. Call them and tell them they screwed up, then send it back.

B. Keep it for a while and see what happens. I'd personally do this myself.

Then when they realize they sent it anyway, you get charged 🙂

They will charge you or ask for the order back, that you can be assured.

Nah, you can't be assured of that.

A supplier dropped off a SKID of the wrong toner at our warehouse and never asked for it back. The Warehouse guys have been selling them on ebay.

wait 24 hours, and then call, ask if they want their stuff back;because you canceled the order, and it got shiipeed anyways,
you can also ask if they sent it with No shipping costs. 🙂

call them and ask if they cancelled your order. If they said no, tell them you have the item and want to return it.

If they say yes, then just say thank you and hang up.

Seeing as how I don't plan on ever doing business with this company again, I'll just keep it for now. We'll see where this goes...

This might be why their shipping prices are so high to begin with...they are in the habit of shipping free phones.

I say keep it, but then again I don't have many morals.

One time I tried to RMA an HD to IBM. They sent me a new drive then I sent in the bad one. Luckily I had a tracking number on it that provided the name of the guy who signed, because a few weeks after they had already received the bad drive I they sent me some crappy Maxtor HD that someone else had tried to RMA to them and told me that they had never received my bad drive. I tried for about 6 months and thanks to my CC company I didn't lose anything. However, I couldn't get IBM to take the Maxtor drive back from me. I think it's still stitting in the back of my closet.

You should have just rejected the package instead of accepting it.

Yup. Well try calling them and show them evidence to your order cancellation and try to bargain with them to let you ship it back for free?
