My transmission is leaking and I know exactly what is wrong with it and how to fix it, but it is a lot of effort and there is a good chance I would do it incorrectly anyways. Basically drain transmission fluid, driveshaft comes out (4 bolts really simple), unbolt transmission extension housing and rear transmission mounts, pull the sucker off and put a new gasket on there. My car is as simple as it gets for repairs.

Question is I know clutch jobs run $800 minimum, anyone think this operation will be cheaper or what? The car is worth about $1200 max but obviously it is worth a lot more to me because it just had a new clutch put in and it should last a long time, I just fucked up when I took out the transmission and have this leaking problem now.

edit: 86 toyota pickup 22r engine

CLIFFS: Transmission extension housing gasket

...

nevermind it is leaking from the bellhousing too, this thing is fucked time to sell
