At first, with this sponsorship scandal crap, I was a little mad at the liberals. Sure, they're better than the conservatives, but still...

However, the day to day activities of our government resemble less of a functional system of government, and more of a bloody soap opera. Did anyone see the front page of the Sun, or the Globe and Mail, with Peter McKay with his sullen look, and little dog?

I mean JESUS! I don't even know if I want to vote in the next election.

I will say this... tonight the fate of the government rests in the hands of two men... Kilgour and Cadman. And they're both independents!! Bet most never saw that one coming.

Hehe, right now we do for sure. The rest of the time it's still a Soap Opera, but kind of a boring one.

Not sick of Federal Politics, but sick of Harper's attempts to use anything to bring the government down. Upsetting testimony in the middle of a controversy, Call an Election! Separatists willing to help you topple the Government, Call an Election! All the while trying to convince everyone that Martin is the desperate one. Wait for the damn Gomery Report smegma!

That said, I do feel for McKay. To lose your Girl and a partner that helped rebuild the Conservative Party all at once must totally suck! Stronach I'm sure is also hurting over the whole ordeal, likely for many of the same reasons, makes me wonder if she tried to bring McKay along with her to the Liberal side or not. Basically I think her distaste for Harper ended up not only causing her to go to the Liberals, but it also became a wedge between her and McKay.

I'm tired of the growing mentality "I don't want another election, I'd rather just sit back and let the Liberals rob us blind". It's sickening to listen to the amount of people that support a crook. That being said Canadian Politics are a joke, someone this week compared the house of commons to a daycare. I don't think there is a better anology. You have politicians being bought out to sway a vote, it's so unethical that half the population just couldnt' be bothered. But, unlike our American cousins we seem to just let it fly :)

Who's the crook though? Looks to me like the Crook(s) are gone already, which is why letting the Commission come to a conclusion makes the most sense, to see if throwing out the current Liberals has any basis in regards to the scandal.

Harper can't wait for the Commission to complete for that very reason, he knows that at the end of it he has nothing(most likely) to peg on the current Liberals other than Guilt by Association. If this scandal was so bad that the current Liberals should be turfed, you'd think that letting the Commision conclude would lead to an easy Conservative victory.

I wouldn't say that... Martin knows if an election happened right now the liberals will be swept from the province. He wants time to try and buy and woo them back, as he's repeatedly snubbed the West. Where are the promised changes? He claimed old politic tricks were a thing of the past and then he offers bribes to opposition members for voting with the government or abstaining. If I lived in Quebec I would be pissed off by the fact that the liberals had been using embezzled funds to make me want to stay in Canada. But with Shawinigate, the gun registry boondoggle, Adscam... enough is enough. There has to be accountibility. And if todays liberals had nothing to do with it or didn't know... shame on them!! How incompetent! You can try attack the Conservatives on what they will do but don't let the liberals get away with what they have done.

Could you explain what is wrong with the budget please?

Particularly the original budget. You know, the one that ALL FOUR parties voiced their support for the day it was released?

No one is saying there shouldn't be an election, but it's idiotic to try toforce one right now when there will clearly be better information available to voters in just a few months.

As for daycare, perhaps you could explain the analogy, since it doesn't make any sense, on the surface. I'd love to know why you think it is so very descriptive.
