Although I don't agree with EVERYTHING bush has done, (although I DO agree with a lot) Why would Canadians protest against him? Quite frankly I know Bush doesnt give 2 shits, and neither do most of you, and neither do most Canadians about the protesting. They cant change anything. What good does it do?

What good does protesting do here in the US?

If people really cared about a cause they would do something that actually had potential to have an impact.

Unfortunately it's far easier for them to make stupid signs & impede the flow of traffic.

There are a lot of professional protestors out there who don't really understand any issues but show up anyways. For most, it's a phase.

I don't know. There was a protest in Vancouver today, I don't get it.

I disagree with a lot of things Bush has done over the last four years, but protesting won't do much.

Let's just be glad it's not our soldiers dying over there. God bless you Jean Chretien. I hope Paul Martin maintains the stance of not assisting the States in their crusade against "terror."

How else would you make it known you aren't happy with a situation, and release the frustration?

See the problem with arson is if you make it too known that YOU are unhappy you end up in trouble.

The key is to make it known that SOMEONE is unhappy, but it sure as hell isn't you.

I go to the whitehouse site and see nothing but porn, then I end up forgetting what I was going to email him about.

Heh. Canadians do funny things like this. IIRC, on the 4th they're going to have huge gatherings where they all go and toke up in protest of America's antimarijuana laws. I'm pretty sure it's the 4th, because one of my 'nucks has a traffic court date in New York and has to miss the festivities.

Heh, the reason most of the people would be going is Just to smoke up, not anything else, hah

Yup, most canuck politicians hate Bush for many reasons (deficit spending, religion in gov, privatization od gov porgrams) but they realize that they will have to play nice with W b/c the above reaons are costing them billions.

It's to send a message to our own gov't, as well as that elusive beast, the "international community." They don't give two shtts what Bush thinks. They want to make sure that Martin remembers why Chretien stayed out of Iraq.

I've read in the Toronto Star today that Martin is eventually going to pledge some resources to the cause..
