Canadians: Office Place closing(?) sale! 3 Stores in Ontario

For all you guys in Ontario, specifically the people who are
close to these stores:

150 West Drive, Brampton (410 and Queen)
215 Fairway Rd. S. Kitchener (Fairway and 8)
47 Milner Ave, Scarborough (401 and McCowan)

There was an ad in the Toronto Star and KW Record that stated that ALL of the inventory was on sale, and there are
no rain checks, transfer from another store, etc. which makes me wonder if they are closing these stores?

I am going to check out the deals tomorrow!

Anyone else been yet?

Office Place? You mean Office Depot?

Nope, I mean Office Place. Its a canadian company that was a direct competitor to Staples/Business Depot and Office Depot.

Anywho, I checked it out today. Not much happening (at least in the Kitchener store), 10% off most stuff, 20% off lamps, and the big 5% off printers. Whoopee.

So are they closing? Anyone know if Office Place is backed by the same company behind Office Depot?

The stores listed are definately closing... there were "Closing Sale" signs posted all over the store. They are in fact backed by Office Depot. When I do a search on the Office Depot websites for Ontario stores, they list all the Office Place stores (complete with graphic). These 3 would be the ones being closed in Canada.

Kind of a shame tho, they just opened the store in Kitchener that they are closing. Brand new building... sheesh.

Hmmnn, that's what I thought. I heard that OD was under some financial stress so they would be closing up a bunch of stores.
