Canadians: Any way to fast-track passport process by paying more?

I've been told by many that it's possible to have a passport application fast-tracked by paying more when applying in person at a passport office.

Confirm?

I think it's more of an under the table deal.

My passport expies soon and I'm hoping I get my new one before my trip to Virginia 🙁

I really don't think people working at the passport office are in the process of accepting monies for better service.

when my passport expired after 5 years last winter, i needed it quickly because i was leaving the country. i think the fee was exactly double of the normal passport processing fee, but they take care of it really fast (2 weeks i think, as opposed to normal 6-8), they give you a fedex envelope that you write down your address on, and everything gets taken care of from there.

i can't be exactly sure without checking, but i think i paid somewhere between 90-120 as a total for that service (including everything of course).

Yep, but plan on waiting around the passport officer for a full 8-10 hours...

you also have to provide genuine need for a fast-track... ie going somewhere and lost it/stolen

I just got mine renewed. Took less than 4 weeks and I was doing it from the US. They delivered it by overnight fedex. Cost like $68 US, $95 Canadian I think.
