Canadian pronunciation of Pie ix?

I was speaking to a crazy Canadian at work today, and when she gave me the address over the phone she said the place is on "Pee Nose".

I asked her to spell the street name and she said:

"Pie and the roman number for 9".

So I spelled Pee Nose as Pie ix. Am I right?

A lot of places have Indian names which of which the spelling and pronunciation are two totally different things.
