I'm just curious. I'm in computer science and the "average" salary figures for starting programmers (out of college) are depressing me. They're almost as bad as minimum wage jobs.. looks likes slave work to me. Does it get better? I'd hate to have gone to college to just slave away the rest of my life (if I wanted that I've have gone into blue-collar work). It must get better.. comeon, otherwise we wouldn't have to go to college for this :)

If you decide to share your salary, also tell me how much exp. you have, your position, your degree, etc. Hell, post even if you're not living in Canada. I'm just curious :)

Plus, taxes are higher in Canada to support all of the social programs. Better check out the "Take Home" side of the paycheck, not just the gross.

FWIW
