Canadian parts vendors?

I'm a Canadian that builds the occasional system. I have been looking at parts lately and wondering what else is out there. Most of the big sites tend to be American, which can cause problems. While the prices and variety tend to be a little better, shipping stuff across the boarder can add lots of unexpected fees and delays.

I usually use NCIX, and have been happy enough with them, but I'm wondering what else is out there. So, if anyone else can recommend some good sites, I'd love to hear them. I'm specifically looking for sites that ship from Canada or have a Canadian branch or warehouses, not just ones that will list prices in C$.

I've been looking at TigerDirect, but what they list is a main warehouse in the states. Their FAQ/help stuff on the Canadian version of the site just directs to the American help pages with no Canadian content at all. If anyone has experience with them, I'd love to hear it.

NCIX and Canada Computer are my choices. I sometimes go to Tiger Direct, but I usually find Canada Computers or NCIX to be cheaper than them, plus they have better rebates than Tiger.

And it's spelled border.

i don't know why more people don't order from www.directcanada.com ... they usually have better prices than most if not all of the other sites listed from here, and if you pay more than $300, you get free shipping

NCIX/DirectCanada are basically the only two online stores i buy from.

DC is usually cheaper at normal pricing, but their website layout is utter shit.
NCIX often has better sales though, & at least i can navigate on their site.

I've yet to see any conclusive prove of how they're related, but yes, NCIX & DirectCanada are somehow related, or possibly owned by the same people...so likely the money's going into the same pants, just different pockets.

NCIX and Directcanada are the same company. Just DirectCanada is online only though, and I always price-match from DC when ordering at NCIX (faster processing).

My computer case is $20 cheaper from DC, and a poster above was correct in that orders over $300 qualify for free shipping, it would have been MUCH cheaper.

Many years ago I had a bad experience with NCIX (poor packaging) but recent purchases have been excellent. Even got a fast reply to some memory issues I was having (now being RMAed). Really impressed by getting stuff in less than 24hours (though I do live less than 100 miles from them).

Yep. NCIX has done well by me in the past, but my current order is not quite as good. Payment was processed on Friday, they seem stuck on checking availability, even though the product page says it's in stock.

Hah, i've heard so much about how they're the same company, or they're not, or they are, or what, but never any proof or backing ever.

So how do you know they're the same company? 😉

I feel they are too, but i've still seen zero proof 😛.

DirectCanada address - #155 - 13900 Maycrest Way, orders are shipped from #105-4620 VikingWay, Richmond, BC

Another E-tailer which shares the same address NXSource, but thier pick-up location is #105-4620 VikingWay, Richmond, BC.

NCIX Warehouse address - #105-4620 VikingWay, Richmond, BC

So it's actually at least 3 different companies that are related somehow, they all use the same warehouse.

I buy from NCIX because the service is better, you can 'pricematch' the prices from DirectCanada and get the best of both worlds.

Just wanted to add, if you're actually close enough to go to the store in person (I bought my system from the Richmond store), the customer service is absolutely fantastic. They even helped me load my system into my car.

Yep, same here. I have never been disappointed with either and I usually get everything I order the next day (unless I go pick it up from NCIX).
