Not as great of a deal as those americans are getting, but still pretty cheap:

future shop maxt0r 30GB 7200 rpm drive - 249.99
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&affid=&dept=0&WLBS=001P2A&mscsid=ECMD8C2FASKQ9KPV2FE6V8TMHC623J2A&sku_id=06650000000472291&catid=10720&newdeptid=10720

110% price match with pccanada.com's price of 229.99 (scroll down to 7200rpm drive section)
https://shop.pccanada.com/sp_hd2.shtml

50 Dollar rebate valid until Nov 30, 2000
http://www.futureshop.ca/links/rebates/maxtor.pdf

works out to around 178 plus tax. I'm not sure if they'll charge you for shipping or whatever, I'm going to try this out tommorow at the local store. hope this helps out, good luck!

Buffboy, that's Canadian, not bad price for that drive...
I would go with the buy.com new 30GB Maxtor Plus 45 drive for around $121. this is the new H4 ATA100 drive.

I dought FutureShop will price match the drive at PC Canada. The drive at PC Canada is OEM while the FutureShop drive is retail boxed.;)

No way in hell Futureshop B&M would pricematch this... they won't even pricematch their B&M prices with their own online store prices.

what? really? i didn't get a chance to go down today.. but they've always 110% pricematched for me...
and pricematched 100% their online store. I got my video camera for 1709 as per the website, but it was supposed to be 1749 in store. and they pricematched 100% some dv tape prices from a toronto store with a little hassle... and I'm in regina heh. so good ;) I guess your mileage may vary

How do you price match with them? go down to the store and say their website has lower prices?? and ask them to match it?

yep, its exactly what you do. I never ended up trying this deal though... but that is how it worked with my video camera.
