Canadian Law regarding emails

We have our own, in house email server which I make sure gets backed up and what not regularly but I was wondering for how long you are required by law to save emails for? I think for accounting records and things like that it's 5 or 7 years (can't remember) but I'm wondering if there is a similar law for emails?
