Canadian Coins..........

Did Canada make their coins the exact size, shape and color as ours JUST to piss us off? Or did we copy them?

What's the deal there? Anyone know the history of it?

I was going to say the same thing about Panama, but thier coins are actually minted by the US treasury 😱

But who cares, coke machines still take them, don't they?

The term 'greenback' the US uses for their dollar actually came from Canada.
During the Civil war the military liked the new 'green ink developed by Canada and adopted it for the printing of their money.
Hence the new greenbacks 😉

I used a Canadian quarter at Wendy's today. Cashier didn't know the difference. 😀

I use an American quarter the other day here in Canada.... there really isn't a difference... they're all the same size.. and they are all worth the same amounts really (OK, we're only talking COINS)..

It is a vast conspiracy by the shadow government to secretly suvbert the Canadian people and indoctrinate them to the American ways of life. Then, when they are least expecting it, we will annex Canada as the 51st state. Mexico and Central America will follow shortly thereafter.

Or perhaps it is because the Canadians love and idolize the Amaericans so much.

Whichever of those two sounds the most reasonable is probably right. 😀

I don't see you guys having a two-coloured two dollar coin called a toonie. We still have better coins here in canada.

They're worth less, and they don't work in vending machines. I hate it when I get slipped a Canadian coin when I get change. They're sometimes hard to get rid of.
