Poun Tane
Which is pronounced Poon Tang

Its like fries with gravy and cheese

Does this exist? and if so, is it good?

It is actually very good. That picture does not depict its true artery clogging goodness very well. Hell you can even get it at Burger King as an option where I am. (Which I suprisingly had last night. It was damn good)

BK's is alright but I find their gravy a bit on the salty side. Have you tried it from NY Fries? Very good imho.

I had it in Quebec City once, and it was so damn good I wanted to slam my face right into the plate.

why does everything that's so bad have to taste so damn GOOD?!

It is very good. It is a French culinary masterpiece. Up where I live here in Northern Alberta, there is a large French population, and every February we go to a small town's version of Carnivale. Live music in a barn with straw on the floor and an ice bar, and POUTINE :) So good ... but so bad :p

I'll be in Toronto next week... perhaps I'll have to take a look for this and check it out. :)

I like to sample the local cuisine when I travel.... espically when I travel on someone else's $$$.

 - no, no "Sweet Home Alabama". All French music by local bands who are actually sometimes pretty rocking. I can understand it when they speak, but when they sing, they could, for all I know, be singing about the clumsy Anglo shaking it on the dance floors because he's had too many iced beers :p Fortunately, though everything is conducted in French, if you're willing to try they love you for it. My wife's family is all French anyway, so when we go to this party we probably know 80% of the 500 people there :) C'est incroyable.

Most of the French-bashing is directed at those across the pond at least ... but yeah, we'll keep the poutine-goodness between ourselves and our cardiologists :D

MONDO FRITES! I had their chicken and peas poutine (now do any of you know how to pronounce it? poo-tin) and it was spectacular! Washed that gooey goodness down with some Delerium, a nice 9% brew I've only ever found there. Worth the 5$ IMO.

why does everything that's so bad have to taste so damn GOOD?!
