"Yesterday Canada's Prime Minister said that as of now, Canada will not help the United States if we decide to launch a strike on Iraq. When asked why, Canada's Prime Ministers said, 'I'd like to help, but I'm pretty sure we don't have an army.'"

which is why the stupid PM isn't running again... we have an army but we're a peaceful country that doesn't care for kicking the crap out of people like our big brother down south.

I've been here for a while, just didn't post. Believe me I know, I don't mean anything bad about it, I'm just saying we're not as aggressive as the United States are, as well we have no fights to use our army for.

Saw an Interview with a guy last night who was some big wig up there. Former advisor of some sort. Said that they are down to 55,000 troops. Holy cow! There are probably that many police in NYC alone (anyone know?).

He said they had to pull their last troops out of Afgan. because they didn't have enough support from home or something like that. Ran out of folks to rotate.

Guess they feel they don't have anything to worry about.

The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) are not our Army. They are a (fedrally run) police force.

We do have some army...our Prime Minister is just too much of a tool to know what to do with it.

The US has complained (and rightfully so) that Canada doesn't spend enough money on its army. It spends a much smaller percentage of its GDP on military than the US because it know that when it comes down to it the US would help Canada if there was ever a major event like an invasion. I think it's a bit selfish frankly. Any other Candians agree? And yes I held this opinion before I moved to the US as well :D

That?s the general consensus. Hell, they even taught us that in school.
