Kory Teneycke, a former chief spokesman for Prime Minister Stephen Harper, will head the project, which will compete directly with existing specialty news offerings CTV News Channel and CBC News Network. Mr. Teneycke responded to criticism that the network’s intention to offer more opinion-based content could be divisive.

“Canadian TV news today is narrow, it’s complacent and it’s politically correct. It’s boring,” he said. “…Our aim is not to bore people to death. We’ll leave that to the CBC.”

Apparently this channel will have the same editorial slant as The Sun, which is a conservo-populist rag written at a 7th grade level. We'll see lots of home-made insanity now, though we'll always be able to count on the basics - over the top patriotism and flag waving, supporting the troops, attacks on science and academia etc etc.

I personally don't care if you or anyone wants to watch Fox; that's your business....

I just find humour in how they treat their viewership like idiots by pandering to their fears and stoking their anger and feeding their viewers a daily diet of martyrdom....

Not quite, most of our conservatives are farther left wing except for some of the old reform party folk that really love jesus.
