Canada Post: delivery question

This might be sort of a silly question, but does anyone know if parcels delivered in the Canada Post system go through transisition during the weekend? I mean, I know they don't actually deliver the packages but are they being shipped around on the weekend? Just wondering because I'm tracking a parcel that got to a Canada Post location in southern Ontario on Friday afternoon and wondering if it would arrive tomorrow since I live just 5 hours north of there.
