Canada is Harboring American Military Deserters...

Had they been draftees, then the issue would be more complex. However, these traitors voluntarily signed up for armed service and then bailed like a bunch of pu$$ies once the going got tough. They need to be shipped back and face stiff desertion charges in a military court.

They ask you two questions when you join the military

"Do you understand that you may be asked to kill somone?"
"Do you understand that you may die?"

then you sign to it, then take an Oath in front of a DOD Commisioner Its pretty straight forward.

Not too mention the fact that they could have requested non-combat roles
not exactly, they allowed you to do that during a draft, since you didn't volunteer. but now that we have an all volunteer military, theres no guarantee. Sure you could join the Army and say you want to be an office clerk or a cook, but theres nothing to stop them from handing you a rifle and sending you to the front line.

What will happen if Canada refused to send them back?

The next time they request extradition of a wanted criminal we should remind them of their failure to comply with our request.

Thoughts? Should these people be haled as heroes?

My thoughts... They should be shipped back. Not too mention the fact that they could have requested non-combat roles. They signed up to serve, so they should serve.

Speaking as a military vet of 11 years, I ask why bother? If they ever return to the U.S. they'll be summarily arrested and court-martialled. Isn't being stuck in Canada for the rest of their lives punishment enough? 😉

This man speaks the truth.

Ship them back, if you join, you do what you are told and you go where they send you.

Yeah, and this is why international politics are so fvcked up, everyone is being childish.

What is just as rediculous is that they are being halled as HEROES. Instead of the cowards that they are. What a slap in the face to all the brave men/women who actually serve their country as promised.

Oh horse sh*t. They might ask prospective Jar Heads and Grunts that, but not all military.

OT, I have mixed feelings about this issue. Since this war is extremely questionable and is based on lies and deception, why is avoiding it wrong? It's OK for the CINC to break laws (authorizing torture for instance) but not the Grunts?

Yeah? Where the fvck are you? I hope Iraq, or you're a fvcking hypocrit.
