My country is now classified as a Great Power and should reach Superpower status by the year 2100.

Love Bombardier and Embraer planes. Very quiet and smooth flying birds. Also their AC and air circulation seems better than in Boeing or Airbus asy skin feels great after a 2 hour flight.

A shameless plug for the home team.

Bombardier Cseries first flight

Up to 15% less to operate than Airbus/Boeing planes at the same size, and 75% quieter.

Good for Canada.

15% less to operate could mean a lot of things good and bad. Want to pack twice as many folks in? Also 75% quieter than the latest commercial offerings I find hard to believe.

It's great piece of equipment, no doubt. It's worth mentioning that in the same way the C Series is more efficient than the current Boeing 737, the 737 Max will also be about 20% more efficient as well and we'll see it in a year or so. :)

It's also worth mentioning that the 737's first flight was in 1967. :)

Agree, however Boeing will be using the CFM International LEAP engine that is similar to the PW PurePower geared engine. However, PW is claiming that the PurePower engine burn 3% less fuel, longer lifespan and lower maintenance than the LEAP engine. All claims will have to be seen, but PW also claimed that PurePower engine will save the airlines at least 3-4 millions of dollar over each engine lifespan over that of the LEAP variant.

Comparing the new technology Narrow-body engines: GTF vs LEAP maintenance costs

The CSeries programme has several major suppliers, including Shenyang Aircraft (centre fuselage), Alenia Aeronautica (horizontal and vertical stabilisers), Fokker Elmo (wiring and interconnection systems), C&D Zodiac (interiors), Parker Hannifin (flight control, fuel and hydraulics systems), Liebherr-Aerospace (air management system), Goodrich (flap and slat actuation systems and engine nacelles), and Rockwell Collins (avionics).

China, Italy, Netherlands, France, Germany, and of course USA. :whiste:

75% quieter would be only about 4.5 dB reduction, so 133 dB instead of 140 dB

I'm really not sure why Americans shit all over Canada and Canadians. I've been to Canada quite a few times, it is clean, the people are friendly, it is a beautiful country and they seem to have a fairly high quality of living and a lot less poverty than we do.

Honestly, I'd rather live there than many of the states in this country.

The current planes generally are collaborative work from multiple partners, and it include Boeing as well as Airbus.

Canada had one of the finest planes of its time, the Avro Arrow.

Pressure from your "friends" to the South led to Avro's aircraft operations being sold off.

Because it's fun :^D

Edit:
and they take so well. No whining about racism, or complaining that the world's picking on them, and hurting their feelings. They just smile, and get on with life. You gotta respect that.

I think it was/is an inferiority complex, and the fact that their currency was trading 1:1 or greater at some points really drove that home.

That said, if there is wealth then there are bound to be freeloaders, and they still hit that wall.

How many states have you actually lived in? Don't get me wrong, I have never actually lived in California, but have preconceived notions about it and it's citizens. The 5 states I have lived in were very different from each other so I see what you are getting at with USA being a very diverse nation. Just to be sure though, you do realize the state you live in is pretty close to the joke fodder? Not that the midwest or Ohio is far from it, just pointing out that everyone thinks they are in the best place, but the true best pay no attention to their location.

It also happens to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I would kill to live here. I'd kill myself if I lived in Ohio.

I've lived in upstate NY (rural northern Adirondack Park, Albany and Rochester), Los Angeles, CA and San Diego, CA. My parents family were from Grand Rapids Michigan and northern NJ so I've spent a fair amount of time in those states too (like weeks and months at a time). My Mom, brother and sister are all scattered throughout Florida so I've spent a fair bit of time there as well. I've been through parts of Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio and spent time in those states as well.

Go spend some time in Buffalo and then Toronto or Plattsburg and then Quebec and tell me which city you'd rather live in. I liked living in Rochester, NY though. Lots of good people in that area.

According to Al Gore, the world is warming up, so Canada will be prime estate in the future. Imagine Canada with more than 100 million people! Or just with more people so it can be a real country.

It is actually a little sad that it took this long for the plane to fly.. C-Series has been plagued with issues all along, I guess its good that it flew at all..
