Watch the two videos and read the story.

You can also google 'Pittsburgh G20' and see similar tactics being used on peaceful protestors on US Soil.

Here are some videos from Europe.

Politician gets smacked around at the end of the video.

Nigel Farage has a nice commentary on the European Union:

"Just who the hell do you think you people are? You are very very dangerous people, indeed. "

I especially like picture 4. I was in New York City that Saturday when the agitators, most from out of town, fucked up my city and most of the areas I hang out.

Blame the genious(es) who decided to put the meeting in the biggest city in the entire country.

This also happened the same week. Middle of nowhere, quite uneventful.

And in case you're not Canadian, the article is from a Montrealer... Il est une separatiste probablement. Le Mouvement souverainiste du Québec n'aime pas les anglophones ou "Canada".

In case you want some more context concerning the article's author, he comes from the province, which has organizations like this: Office québécois de la langue française (Quebec's French-language watchdog); separatists are very protective of their French culture and support these sorts of things.

Probably bitter about this too:

And two months after the G20, Toronto elected a mayor that thinks not enough heads were bashed and mass arrests just weren't big enough.

I was pretty disgusted with what happened that weekend, but what's really sad is that no one gives a shit about it.

That's what happens when you believe that some old hag is a living God and an entire country's population willingly subjects themselves to peasant status.

Maybe they should study how the Communists in China reacted with tanks and machine guns. Easier to kill the troublemakers, than arrest them repeatedly.

On a side note, I wonder if the protestor's are paid to show up like some are in the USA.

No doubt about it. You think they are building FEMA camps and employing 1,000,000 people in security surveillance state like the WOPO investigative report talked about for nothing?

Dollar is becoming worthless. Commodities prices rising and oil which controls everything's price is rising. We will continue to print to prevent riots. Further devaluing dollar. The global run will continue to hard assets and dollar sell off. Dollars will be worthless. Then what? Go watch a few hours of LA riots over at Youtube x 1000 cities. Martial law will be declared people rounded up in FEMA camps. They will seize farms and other necessities until control is brought about.

The Govt knows there is nothing they can do politically to prevent collapse but they are getting prepared for it.

Well, that post pretty much takes the cake.

A few weeks ago it seemed like our (Toronto's) chief of police would get sacked as a result of this debacle, but it seems like he's in the clear now. Voter apathy, I guess.

The leaders at the provincial level are also hugely at fault for what occurred. They'll likely be tossed out come the next election, though not for this reason.

Canada had a rough 2010. Disastrous Winter Olympics (with riots too), G20 disaster, increased criticism from the oil sands, rejection at the UN, etc. The entire world is watching in awe. Hopefully 2011 will be better.

No offence, but it's what happens when we import our politics wholesale from down south - you guys have some of the most dysfunctional, money-drenched politics in the world. The nasty partisanship you guys had in the early 90s only made its way up here a few years ago, but we'll probably catch up soon.

Not 90% but I can see 30-40% in certain cities like Vancouver. Incomes are not in line with RE prices and it will fall until they are.

Very doubtful that will happen. Not this coming year anyway, possibly 20%, but there's no/very little speculation in this Market.

There's lots of speculation in Toronto's condo market. I could see a drop of 10% or 20%, but that'd be more of a honest to goodness correction than anything else.

Speculator demand for condos

CMHC released its rental market report today. It has estimated the percentage of investor-owned condos in Toronto at around 20%, not unusually high for a large city. But that number masks a rising trend in investor-owned condos in Toronto. A Globe and Mail piece published in August estimated the investor demand for new condos at 40% of total, though it didn’t indicate exactly where it got that estimate from.

This estimate seems fairly consistent with estimates from those in the industry.

Probably right. I've been looking at condos and houses for the past year on MLS in preparation for actual buying. Those prices are out of whack, and even more puzzling when there are over a hundred similar units in a 2 block radius at the same price. Just check out King/Front and Spadina. Place is completely oversaturated.

Always with the negative eye. You weren't hugged enough as a child were you?

I'm still waiting for my apology for how terrible the opening ceremony was for the Winter Olympics.
