Can you walk or stand on your hands?

I give up. I don't think it's a strength issue for me unless it's purely stabilizer muscle-related. I have a pretty strong upper body and can bench my weight with ease. I can also stand on my hands for an extended time if my feet are up against the wall. But for the life of me, I can't do a free hand stand for more than a couple seconds. You must need superb balance or a great center of gravity.

What's the trick? Is it easier with legs straight or bent over?

For as long as I want. I can also press a handstand and I weigh 180 pounds. You just need to practice. The weight training you do in a gym does not replicate the training you need to do in order to hold a handstand. You have to practice handstands a lot to learn how to balance yourself. Don't be surprised if it takes you a month to make progress. Think about how long it took you to learn to walk/stand on your feet as a baby...
