Can you walk into an Apple store and get a MBA today?

Yes. I was just there to play with the Core i5 models. I'd say that i5 is worth it if you are looking at the 11". If you are looking at the 13" and you don't mind having no backlit keyboard, get the older model since it's cheaper.

Want the 11". Damn, I really have been spending a sheepload of money lately...I may go take a look later tonight.

Do they sell refurbs in-store? I don't mind a MBA 1st Gen 11".

I don't think they sell refurbs in-store, or at least not at the ones I frequent. They barely have stock of new ones.

The new ones are 2X as fast, I'd actually pass on a refurb this time.

I just shipped my MBA to daughter, will be getting a current gen 13" MBA when they hit the refurb store... They look flipping awesome.

Her plastic Mac finally just died, the screen crapped out, stood up pretty well, bought it used from Kaido.

I may try to ressurect it.
