Can you use two graphics cards (PCI & AGP) and switch between them?

Is it possible to have both an AGP and a PCI graphics card in a system at the same time, and be able to switch back and forth? I'm in a bind, because I built a new system that I wanted to use for 3D rendering but professional OpenGL cards like 3DLABS, etc. don't perform well in games. I'd like to use the system for both games and rendering, and I thought maybe I'd get an PCI ATI Radeon for games, and an AGP 3DLABS card for rendering. Would this be possible? I'm going to get a monitor with two inputs.

unfortunately, 98 is going to see 2 video cards and you need to choose one as the "primary display"..this is the one it will use for 3d assuming that both cards are 3d cards (i believe)

your options, as i can see them, would be to switch which one is your primary monitor everytime you want to play a game, or to disable one or the other (and reboot after that).

your bios probably has a setting for which video card to boot off of (agp or pci) but this does not affect windows settings.

also, if you have 2 video cards setup, you're mouse is going to go off the screen if you're only using 1 monitor, which could be annoying
