Can you use the PCI slot next to an Evga 6800 GT?

Hi,

I would like to get a 6800 GT which lets me use the PCI slot next to it, most block it, obviously.

Now, it looks like the evga doesn't:

Anybody has this card and can confirm this?

Of course I need a low-profile PCI card next to it so that the fan isn't blocked but I have those.

Are you using an SFF PC with only one or two PCI slots? Because otherwise, just put your PCI cards in starting on the left.

I have full-size PCs but in all of them I have all PCI slots taken. I'd like to get one back.

Looking at the photos in this review, it's extremely unlikely that your PCI slot will be blocked.

In fact, this review suggests that any 6800 GT that follows the reference design (as far as the cooler goes) will give you that PCI slot back.

Bump. It looks good from the photos, but can anybody confirm this?

Anybody has this card and tried?

Looks exactly like my eVGA 6800 standard which does not block the PCI slot below the AGP.

It shouldn't block it but it is still recommended not to use the PCI slot under niether video cards.

It's designed so that you can use the slot below the videocard, it will fit no problem. but JBT is right, try to keep cards away that block airflow to the GPU.

Besides the heat issue by using the first PCI slot, I beleive the AGP slot and the first PCI slot share the same IRQ.

The fist slot should only be used when you have no slots available.

I have this exact card and yes, you could put a PCI card next to it. I would closely monitor the heat on it though.
