Can you use an Xbox 360 controller on CoD2 for PC?

I just started using a 360 controller with the PC and it works well with battlefront 2 :p However, I'm attempting to use it on CoD2 and it seems to not work. Is there a way around this, or does CoD 2 simply not support it? CoD2 doesn't seem to detect it. And yes, I have the drivers properly installed.

I would shoot myself with a model Kar98k or PPSH (loaded with huge BB bullets) before I play an FPS with a controller.
It would HURT too, but not fatal, as I would make sure to be close to an emergency room and miss any vital organs.

QFT, it's a PC game, so use a keyboard and mouse.

And remember, a true fps can only be played on a personal computer.

unless the pc version is joypad aware its gonna be ugly. the game is set a bit different to adapt to playstyle of joypad vs mouse/kb. well it should be if it supports such a setup... if u force it..u better be a gamepad god.
