Can you use a PC power supply on a I MAC (circa 1999)

I MAC was working fine until one day it would not power on.
It will try to power up for a few seconds if you leave it unplugged for a couple of hours.
It will try to power up for 3-5 seconds (sounds no picture) after whicj it will shut itself down with a clicking sound at the cord. Cord was replaced same problem.

Regarding PSU
Are the mother board plugs even the same?
Are the voltages the same?
Can it even fit inside an I MAC.

How do you accces the bios on the I MAC
Is there a Bios reset jumper on the I MAC

Situation was his college son was home for the weekend and may have messed around with the bios and computer.

We live in a rural area and he is planning to take it to a mom and pop shop for repair.
I told him it may not be worth saving since it is 5 years old and slow as hell. But his wife really likes the I MAC.

Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Thats a non standard unit and you will need to hunt one down if you want to replace it, pluging in a PC powersupply to an IMAC circia '99 will fry the system completely.

it depends on the system. the beige g3 is the only system i know of that actually uses a standard atx power supply. for all other atx power supply hacks, go here. well, that's one example, the main site has a couple more.
