Can you use a Canadian mobo in US

I am about to ask what might be the dumbest question in a long time. If someone was to by a mobo from someone in Canada like a Asus An78X here in the US, when they got it is there any reason you would not be able to do bois updates, use WinXp etc or something about if you use XP .... The reason I ask is a guy I know ordered a mobo, CPU and vid card from Canada and we were talking about it and some guy(who says he knows "cause he does this stuff for a living") said bios updates etc would screw up the board. Now I have never heard this and am quite skeptical but just wanted to make sure cause I have been known to be wrong in the past..........once in a while 😉
 
Sounds like your friend's a little Anti-Canadian. There's no voltage differences, BIOS subtleties, etc that would prevent you from using the Canadian board in the US.

The only difference is that the Canadian board apologizes when it locks up. 😀

Too funny!!

The guy who told us this is one of those know it all types for what i can tell. Like I said I had never heard of any such thing for Us/Canada but figured it would be safe to check into. HEll he was trying to tell us this didnt apply just to computer parts, so that is when I was pretty sure he was full of poo
 
I hear the Canadian boards run at about 65% to 70% speed in the US (the actual percentage fluctuates daily).

What he may have meant was that Nvidia Nforce2 boards have issues with BIOS flashes.

But that is not because it is Canadian, LOL.

Most boards are born Taiwanese.

No actually the guy was trying to tel us this was true for all motherboards and other hardware. Thanks for the replies and the laughs
