Can you use a 24EPS psu w/ a 20pin mobo ?

I just got a antec 550EPS but they sent the wrong converter 20 to 24pin.. I ordered a 24 pin (psu) to 20pin mobo.

Can I the 24pin psu w/out the adapter. It looks like it will fit, just the extra 4 pins will hang ....

yeah should work fine. Just let the other 4 pins hang.

Should be fine. Just make sure the right four pins hang. Check the pin layout in the mobo manual to the pin layout in the instructions that came with the PS.

Just recently on the forums here someone plugged a 20pin PS into a 24pin mobo, and left the wrong 4 pins open, and instantly fried his mobo. I think he had to force it to get it to fit the wrong way but it can be done.
