Hi,

I don't know much (if any) about Win XP. My friend showed me he baught it but he is unsure if he can upgrade from Win98 first addition to XP Pro using the Full Version of the CD. He asked me and i don't know so i am asking it here. Can it be done? I don't think he has a CD Burner to back up all his stuff which is why he probably asked me.

Thank you

I think you can, but you shouldn't. I attempted that with Win98SE, I couldn't even boot into safe mode!

Yes you can. Put the CD in the tray and then the disc will start giving you the option to upgrade.

IMO, it is better to back-up all the important stuff on your computer, fdisk the hard drive, put in the XP CD and turn on the computer. Less problems develop that way...
