Can you turn off spell/grammar problem underlining in MS Word?

I opened a long document that was an attachment and want to read it in Word, but the default is to check spelling and grammar and indicate perceived problems with those squiggly underlines. Isn't there a way to temporarily turn that stuff off? Thanks!

Tools > Options > Spelling and Grammar (tab)

Then just uncheck "Check spelling as you type," and "Check grammar as you type." After you clear out the existing squigglies, it should shut up.
