Can you turn any ordinary PDA into a wireless device?

Debated between the Dell Axim and Toshiba e740. I've read that the integrate wireless feature on the e740 is horrible. Then again this review I read was done when it first appeared in 2001. Hopefully things are fixed.

However, then I see the HP iPaq H1910. That just has a 1 x MultiMedia Card / SD Memory Card.
I take it I would need a CompactFlash slot to install one of the wireless cards.

The viewsonic looks nice, but both the Axim and e740 beat them so I won't go that route.

The answer to your question is, in most cases, yes. As long as your PDA has a CF slot, you should be able to install a wireless card. Also, in the near term, they will be coming out with an SD wireless card, so I would say if your PDA has either one or the other, you will be able to go wireless. I have the Dell Axim and a Socket low power wireless card (CF), and I love it! It's pretty cool being able to IM, check email and surf the web on my PDA.
