Can you try out a new job?

Say that you get a new job offer and you're not 100% sure if you should take it. Can you take a vacation from your current job and start the other one? Then two weeks into it ... decide if you want to take it. If you want to take it take a two week leave of absence from your new job, go back and give your two weeks at your old job? Or is that completely unethical.

You can get away with that if it were a part-time job though... those don't count.

Just quit with no notice? Kind of mean but perfectly legal, at least in this state.

maybe the new job would let you take a few weeks to finish up your old job after you tried it out before you start the new. it would show that you are fair to your employer.

He said it was a 2 week LoA from the new job so you can go back to your old job to put in your last 2 weeks.

yeah that part wouldnt work.... it would only work if you dont mind burning bridges at your old job if you decide you like it.... a 2 week LoA after your first two weeks at a new job = you fired
