Okay, I'm correcting 30 tests in my 418 project management class. I have 20% females in the class. Without looking at the names on the front, I can pick out the female penmanship every time.

Girls write better and more clearly than the males. But why is that? Any clues?

There are of course, always exceptions to the rule. My sister's handwriting looks like sh!t. Seriously, she uses college ruled and uses two lines per letter.

quite honestly, I would have agreed about 5 years ago... then again, that's the level of students that you're dealing with now. Just so you know, in about 4 or 5 years you're going to discover that the majority of both sexes have horrible penmanship. I think the reason may have something to do with more time spent on keyboards and less time actually writing by hand.

Yeah, usually. Girls' handwriting is typically larger and is smooth and has more curves than guys'. Just from what I've noticed.

I was told they are not spending much time even teaching cursive anymore. I am not quite sure how you have a signature without cursive.

I have a harder time with female writing usually - the "bubbliness" of it makes some letters look the same.

I can write finer then any girl I've every known. Done tons of callegraphy and stuff. Yet, half the time when I'm just jotting crap down, it's barely legible and hte other half it's fairly neat. It just depends. Here, think about this...

When was the last time you saw a boy in elementary school using the back of his spiral notebook to write down the names of all the girls he had a crush on. Decorating it with pretty flowers, peotry, and other useless cute junk? When was the last time you saw a little girl drawing a war scene in their notebooks of bombs dropping fro above, and transformers stepping on flowers, and explosions...

Yah, practice starts at an early age. Girls tend to write pretty because they focused on that while young. That is not always the case though and it is becoming less and less and the society is churning more girls out young with the male mindset to learning.

There's always those prep lovely human exceptions, you know the ones who dress in pajamas they didn't even sleep in and bring a teddy bear to school and try to write like girls do. I hate those fvcking kids.
