I have a story on this. I was on a jury where the defense's main point was attacking the victim's ability to correctly identify the defendant, who was black. The expert witness was a local college professor who had done a lot of research, and the main premise was that someone who is not used to seeing another race can often times confuse faces and not ID correctly, i.e. white people think all Asians look alike and all blacks look alike, so a pick on a lineup would be inaccurate and cannot be relied upon.
So the victim gets to the stand. He's Indian (dot not feather). The prosecutor asks him where he grew up. Victim answered he was born in Jamaica and moved to New York City as a teenager and currently works in LA. Then he was asked what his occupation was. He works at a recording studio as a tech his whole life. What genre? Hip hop.
Anyway, we convicted the guy and when I left the courthouse there was a bum wearing a cool starry bra.
