Why would you want a DVD on your computer? I hardly think that the masses sit in front of their computers to watch movies. Am I missing something here?

Can you use a DVD for anything else on a computer?

the dvd can read &amp; play cds as well so getting a dvd drive increases your pc's versatility!

A DVD is just a storage medium...

You can use a CD for data storage, but also for movies.
You can use a DVD for movies, but also for data storage.
