can you tell me what stepping my chip is?

I heard diffrent steppings yield different oc results, is this true? where do i look to find out?

I don't know if anybody has actually done a controlled study of this. There's lots of anecdotal evidence, but that's really not relevant when you consider all the myths that exist in the OC community.

If you got a retail box, look at the # that starts with an L.

ie mine is L626A167

I have a week 26 e6600 A stepping

Its also on the chip itself

SL9T9 means you have a conroe, not the old allendale. Glad compusa has the conroes, I was worried about that, but now I'll pick one up. The stepping should be on a line printed on the CPU heatspreder lower than the ST9T9.

Looks like you might have a week 47 "A" stepping.

Anybody have an e6400 with a different stepping?

I have head of the e6600 having a,b and f steppings.
