Can you tell me the best sports games for PS3?

PS3 games are expensive and I'm cheap (I got my PS3 for $8, via Thank You Points). Also, sometimes I just want to come home and play a game without giving a damn about a storyline or ending.

I purchased Madden 08 for the PS3, it was a very costly mistake. Poor game, IMO.

It's not one of the sports you listed, but it's so fun and addicting.

HSG: Out of Bounce is fun, but it looks very much like HSG Fore on PS2, I can't justify $60 just for the new hitting mechanism.

I third The Show. Very good mechanics and some great animations. I still get amazed at some of the infield action.

By the way, regarding Madden, I 've heard the lead person that worked on this years iteration is different form the last few years and the game should be better than 08. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

it looks A LOT better than PS2 graphics, by a long shot.

also the online in it is way better than the PS2 online mode. 50 player tournaments and a bunch of other modes.

But for a golf game w/only 6 courses (they also each have long-tee mirrored modes) i can see why one would be hesitant to spend $60 on it, but as one who has purchased it, i have put WWAAYY more than $60 worth of my time into it. I've probably put over 100 hours into the game total.

Everyone recommending MLB: The Show...is it a fun game even if you don't give two shits about baseball? I enjoy sports games and have contemplated purchasing it.

Yeah, I don't really follow baseball at all and I still think it's amazing.

there is a demo on PSN, you should try it.

i'm not a baseball fan, or a baseball game fan, but I tried the demo and was pretty blown away by the graphics/presentation of it all. it truly looks incredible.

I tried but couldn't figure out what controls do what when attempting to pitch. It looked pretty but that was about it

NBA 2k8 is awesome. I also played NHL 08 for 360 and it was fun...I think the PS3 version is jsut as good.

Get MLB Power Pros 2008 for PS2 if your PS3 has BC. It's only $20. Read the reviews, it's a good game.

yeah for sure...i played it on ps2 and 360 and it was awesome. i'm sure the ps3 version is also good.

i'd say Top Spin 3. others may disagree. its unlike virtua tennis 3, as its initially quite complex and frustrating, but when you've mastered the controls is very satisfying

I found the demo for that game very frustrating. I much prefer the quick pace of Virtua Tennis (just made it to the Grand Slams, woohoo!).
